A business support system (BSS) is a group of business elements used in networking to help service providers gain customer insight, compile real-time subscriptions and introduce new revenue-generating services. A BSS is critical because it helps service providers support and extend operations to enhance business services. Business Support workers are also known as administrative assistants and take care of a variety of office and odd jobs for their employer. Essential functions performed by Business Support include greeting clients, taking messages, typing reports, scheduling appointments, taking minutes at meetings, and updating databases.
Most companies offer technical support for the services or products they sell, either included in the cost or for an additional fee. Technical support may be delivered by phone, e-mail, live support, live chat or website, or other tools where users can log an incident. Larger organizations frequently have internal technical support available to their staff for computer-related problems.
Digitization is of crucial importance to data processing, storage, and transmission because it “allows information of all kinds in all formats to be carried with the same efficiency and also intermingled”. Though analog data is typically more stable, digital data can more easily be shared and accessed and can, in theory, be propagated indefinitely, without generation loss.
Business Transformation is the process of fundamentally changing the systems, processes, people, and technology across a whole business or business unit, to achieve measurable improvements in efficiency, effectiveness, and stakeholder satisfaction. As such, a business transformation project is likely to include any number of change management projects.
